The Mattapoisett Woman’s Club announced that Isabella Hunt is the recipient of the club’s 2026 Continuing Education Scholarship. A 2022 graduate of ORR and Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Science in Health Science Studies, Ms. Hunt is pursuing a doctorate in Physical Therapy at the same institution. She plans to open her own pediatric therapy clinic in Mattapoisett with a goal of providing accessible services to children across the Southcoast region. Ms. Hunt’s Senior Capstone Project investigated the accessibility and developmental benefits of pediatric physical therapy on children with a variety of diagnoses. Her early experience included shadowing her mother, a physical therapist, at her pediatric clinic, Whole Child Therapy Center.
Ms. Hunt’s undergrad years at Quinnipiac were busy with volunteer activities related to her chosen profession. As a member of the management team of the university’s largest student run philanthropic organization, she raised funds and awareness for Connecticut Children’s Hospital. She has a deep passion for the Go Baby Go program, a non-profit that builds adapted ride-on cars for children with mobility challenges. In this program, she built and delivered cars to three children. She is one of ten physical therapy students chosen as counselors at Camp No Limits, where this summer she will work with children with limb loss and limb difference. Ms. Hunt credits the scholarship with empowering her “to continue to be fully immersed in the rigorous physical therapy curriculum while maintaining my intensive volunteer commitments.”
The Mattapoisett Woman’s Club is a philanthropic organization that plans and executes fund-raising events including the Taste of the Town and the biennial garden tour to help generate the revenue for these scholarships and other charitable donations. Its scholarships are intended to support the club’s belief in the importance of education and to demonstrate its grateful dedication to the community. Membership in the Mattapoisett Woman’s Club is open to any woman who is interested in the objectives of the organization.
